Weihenstephan

Weihenstephan is the oldest brewery in the world, having seen continuous brewing on its site near Munich since 1040. As a result of its very close working partnership with the Brewing Department of the Technical University of Munich, it is also one of the most up-to-date. It has recently established a close working relationship with the Boston Beer Company, brewers of the famous Samuel Adams beers, to produce innovative new beer types including the Infinium brand.

Weihenstephan specialises in wheat beers, from the multi award winning Hefe Weiss through to the filtered Kristal and the dark Dunkel. In 2009, the Hefe was named overall Champion at the International Beer Competition in London, then won gold for the best wheat beer at the same competition the following year. Dunkel, likewise, was named as the World’s Best Dark Wheat beer at the World Beer Awards 2009.

Weihenstephan wheat beers are nationally available in most supermarket chains. The draught is well-established in Scotland and is rapidly gaining new outlets in England.
